I began my career as a Paralegal with a mid-size defense litigation law firm in Charleston, West Virginia over 20 years ago.  At that time, I was married to an active-duty Air Force officer, and we were transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina.  Three small girls, a dog and military husband, we were off to a new city, and I needed a new place to work and that is where I began my career in Family Law.  Since that time, I have been through my own divorce, raised my girls, became a “Gigi” and just recently married my soulmate. I have worked for a few reputable attorneys in the Charlotte community, and I have found over the years, that “we” (attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants) are a close-knit family and can go to most anyone in the community for advice, questions/answers and referrals when there is a conflict.  Through these years, I have found that this job is stressful, complicated, fulfilling and rewarding.  You meet people at their lowest point in their lives and work with them through the outcome.  It is challenging at times, but in the end, I know they appreciate the work and dedication that I and my team have done to get them the best result possible.  I tell people almost every day, “when this is over, I will know you better than you know yourself.”  Some laugh, some question it and then at the end, they understand it.  Client’s will ask my opinion on what I would do if I were in their shoes, and I explain that I have been there.  The best part of my job is getting the simple, “Thank you” from a client, that is why I continue to keep doing this after 20+ years.

In my spare time, I love being on the lake with my husband, family and friends. I love to travel as much as I can and spend time with our dogs Piper and Lola.
