Why I Became a Family Law Attorney.

Since I was a young child, I always knew that I wanted to be an attorney, but I never thought I would end up practicing family law.  That being said, after I graduated from the Elon University School of Law, I was presented with the opportunity to practice family law at a law firm in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Since taking my first leap into the practice of family law, I now cannot imagine any other area of practice could be more rewarding and have devoted myself one hundred percent to helping my clients navigate the family law process.  Practicing family law has given me the unique opportunity to truly help individuals and their families during some of the most difficult and trying times of their lives. It is my hope that I can alleviate as much stress from our clients’ lives as possible throughout the process.

One of the main aspects of practicing family law that I enjoy most is being able to creatively and effectively negotiate a resolution that will save our clients from needless litigation and increased stress.  I am firm believer that if individuals and their partners/spouses can negotiate an agreement based on their own terms, it is much more beneficial to them and their families, rather than having a Judge decide what is going to happen to their lives based upon the limited information which is presented to them.  Unfortunately, not all family law matters will settle outside of Court, which is why I and the team at Godley, Glazer & Funk are equipped to competently and zealously advocate for our clients in the Courtroom.  This gives our clients comfort in knowing that they have a team of attorneys and paralegals who will be with them every step of the way.
