Degree: Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies
Why I Became a Paralegal
I began my career in family law at 19 years old as a receptionist at a sole practitioner’s office in New Bern, North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, I obtained an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies and was promoted to a full-time paralegal. In 2021, I accepted a family law paralegal position at a large firm with over 100 attorneys. During my time at this firm, my husband was in the Marine Corps and received orders to St. Louis, Missouri in January 2022. I worked remotely for a year and a half while living in Missouri. In June 2023, my family and I moved to Carteret County, which is where I grew up. Although this job can be very stressful, it is rewarding to be able to help people during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I am looking forward to continuing my career as a family law paralegal in Eastern North Carolina.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our daughter, and two dogs. I enjoy going out on the boat during the summer and hanging out with family and friends.
